One of the best things to do at Christmastime is to spread some holiday cheer to those who desperately need it. That’s why every year, the Spartan Irrigation team volunteers our time to set up holiday lights and decorations at the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan in Lansing. Spartan Irrigation offers full-service holiday lighting installations, and we love sharing our skills with the Ronald McDonald House. Since the house opened in 2000, over 200 families each year have been able to call it their home-away-from-home while their children are being treated at Sparrow Hospital. And we’ve been there every November since the beginning.
Our office staff and field staff come together to donate one evening every November to light up the house. We hope the decorations help brighten the holidays and spirits of the families who are often struggling with very challenging situations with seriously ill children. Many of them are facing spending the holidays far from home.
As holiday lighting installation specialists, we want to give back by volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. This is our 19th season decorating the house, we look forward to many more.
The mission of the house is to give families a warm and caring place to stay during their greatest time of stress and difficulty—the illness of their child. It’s a comfortable, affordable place to sleep, offers space for siblings to play, and it’s located in close proximity to Sparrow Hospital.
